Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 33:178

Abu Khalid al-Ahmar narrated to us, from Ibn ‘Ajlan, from al-Qa‘qa‘, from al-Qasim, who said: ‘A’ishah said: "We would remain for a month or half a month without a fire entering our house, neither for a lamp nor for anything else." I said: "By what did you live?" She said: "By the two black things: water and dates. And we had neighbors from the Ansar—may Allah reward them with good—who had milch camels, and they would sometimes send us some of their milk."
