Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 33:201

Ibn ‘Ulayyah narrated to us, from Ayyub, from ‘Ikrimah, who said: Al-‘Abbas said, "I will certainly find out how long the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) will remain among us." So I said, "O Messenger of Allah, if you were to take a shaded structure (arish) and speak to the people, for they have surely harmed you." He said, "I will not cease to be among them, while they tread upon my heels, pull at my cloak, and their dust reaches me, until Allah gives me rest from them."
