'Affan narrated to us, he said: Ja'far ibn Sulayman narrated to us, he said: Hisham narrated to us, from al-Hasan, who said: 'Umar ibn al-Khattab would pass by a verse in his daily recitation, and his sobbing would choke him, so he would weep until he fell. Then he would remain in his house until he was visited, as they would think he was ill.
