Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 33:272

Ibn ‘Ulayyah narrated to us, from Layth, from al-Hasan, who said: ‘Ali said: "Glad tidings to every servant who is obscure, whom the people know not, but who knows the people, and whom Allah knows with His pleasure. Those are the lamps of guidance; every dark trial is cleared away from them, and Allah admits them into His mercy. They are not the spreaders of rumors, nor the boastful, nor the harsh, nor the showy."
