Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 33:347

Abu Mu'awiyah narrated to us, from al-A'mash, from Khaythama, from al-Aswad, who said: Abdullah said: There is no soul, righteous or wicked, but that death is better for it than life. If he was righteous, then Allah has said: "And that which is with Allah is best for the righteous." And if he was wicked, then Allah has said: "And let not those who disbelieve think that Our extending their time is better for themselves. We only extend their time so that they may increase in sin, and for them is a humiliating punishment."
