Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 33:357

Abdullah ibn Numayr narrated to us, from Sufyan, from Habib, who said: Abu al-Darda’ would not pass by a village without saying, "Where are those who perished?" Then he would say, "They have departed, and the deeds remain."
