Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 33:360

Abu Usama narrated to us, from Khalid ibn Dinar, from Mu'awiyah ibn Qurrah, who said: Abu al-Darda' said: "Goodness is not that your wealth and your children increase, but goodness is that your forbearance becomes great, that your deeds increase, and that you compete with the people in the worship of Allah. So if you do good, you praise Allah, and if you do evil, you seek the forgiveness of Allah."
