Hadith 33:380
Muhammad ibn Fudayl narrated to us, from Husayn, from Salim ibn Abi al-Ja’d, from Abu al-Darda’, that he said: What is the matter with me that I see your scholars departing, and I see your ignorant ones not learning? Learn before knowledge is lifted, for the lifting of knowledge is the departure of the scholars. What is the matter with me that I see you coveting what has been guaranteed for you, while you neglect what you have been entrusted with? For I know your worst people better than a farrier knows horses. They are those who do not come to the prayer except at the end, and they do not listen to the Qur’an except by abandoning it, and their freed slave is not freed.
