Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 33:403

Abu Mu'awiyah narrated to us, from al-A'mash, from Mujahid, from Ibn Umar, who said: No one attains anything of the worldly life except that it decreases his ranks with Allah, even if he is noble in His sight.
