Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 33:413

Ibn ‘Ulayyah narrated to us, from Ayyub, from Muhammad, who said: It was conveyed to me regarding Ibn ‘Umar that he used to say: "I have found my companions upon a matter, and if I were to oppose them, I fear that I would not join them."
