Hadith 33:438
Abu Mu'awiyah narrated to us, from al-A'mash, from Abu Zabyan, from Jarir, who said: We descended at al-Safah, and we were with a man sleeping in the shade of a tree, and the sun had almost reached him. I said to the servant: "Go with this mat and shade him." When he woke up, it was Salman. I went to him to greet him with peace. He said: "O Jarir, be humble for the sake of Allah, for whoever is humble for the sake of Allah, Allah will raise him on the Day of Resurrection." "O Jarir, do you know what the darknesses are on the Day of Resurrection?" I said: "I do not know." He said: "The oppression of people among themselves in the world." Then he took a twig, which I could barely see between his fingers, and said: "O Jarir, if you were to seek in Paradise the likes of this twig, you would not find it." I said: "O Abu 'Abd Allah, where are the palm trees and the trees?" He said: "Their roots are pearl and gold, and their upper parts are the fruit."
