Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 33:453

Waki’ narrated to us, he said: Al-A’mash narrated to us, from Sulayman ibn Maysarah and Al-Mughirah ibn Shubayl, from Tariq ibn Shihab, who said: I had an older brother whose kunya was Abu ‘Azrah, and he used to mention Salman frequently. I desired to meet him because of my brother’s frequent mention of him. He said: So he said to me one day, "Do you want to see Abu ‘Abd Allah? He has arrived at Al-Qadisiyyah." He said: Salman, when he returned from a military expedition, would stay at Al-Qadisiyyah, and when he returned from Hajj, he would stay at Al-Mada’in as a warrior. He said: I said, "Yes." He said: So we set off until we entered upon him in a house in Al-Qadisiyyah. Behold, he was sitting with a rag between his legs, and he was sewing a basket or tanning a hide. He said: We greeted him and sat down. He said: Then he said, "O son of my brother, you must be moderate, for it is more effective."
