Yazid ibn Harun narrated to us, he said: Muhammad ibn ‘Amr informed us, from Abu Bakr ibn al-Munkadir, who said: Habib ibn Maslama, while he was over al-Sham, sent three hundred dinars to Abu Dharr and said: "Seek help with these for your needs." Abu Dharr said: "Take them back, for he has not found anyone more deceived by Allah than us. We have nothing but a shade that we hide under, a small flock of sheep that returns to us in the evening, and a female servant who has donated her service to us. Furthermore, I fear the surplus."
