Hadith 33:475
Abu Khalid al-Ahmar narrated to us, from Abu Malik al-Ashja’i, from Abu Hazim, from Abu Hurayrah, who said: The believer is not taken [in death] until he sees the glad tidings. When he is taken, he calls out, and there is no creature in the house, small or large, but that it hears his voice, except for the two heavy ones: the jinn and mankind. [He says:] "Hasten me to the Most Merciful of the merciful." When he is placed upon his bier, he says, "How slow you are walking!" And when he is placed in his grave, he is made to sit up, and he is shown his seat in Paradise and what Allah has prepared for him, and his grave is filled with fragrance, basil, and musk. He said: So he says, "O Lord, advance me [to the Hour]." It is said to him, "It is not yet time for you; you have brothers and sisters who have not yet joined you, so sleep with a cool eye." Abu Hurayrah said: By the One in whose hand is my soul, no young, well-fed, comfortable sleeper, nor any young woman in the world, has ever slept a sleep shorter or sweeter than his sleep, until he raises his head to the glad tidings on the Day of Resurrection.
