Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 33:48

Waki’ narrated to us, he said: Mis’ar narrated to us, from Zayd al-‘Ammi, from Abu al-Siddiq al-Naji, that: Sulayman ibn Dawud went out with the people to pray for rain. He passed by an ant lying on its back, raising its legs toward the sky, and it was saying: "O Allah, I am a creation from among Your creations; we have no independence from Your provision. So either You give us water, or You destroy us." Sulayman said to the people: "Return, for you have been given water through the supplication of others."
