Zayd ibn al-Hubab narrated to us, he said: Mu'awiyah ibn Salih narrated to us, he said: Yahya ibn Sa'd al-Kala'i informed us, from 'Amr ibn 'A'idh al-Azdi, from Ghutayf ibn al-Harith al-Kindi, who said: I and some companions of mine sat with 'Abdullah ibn 'Amr. I heard him say: "When the servant is placed in the grave, it speaks to him and says: 'O son of Adam, did you not know that I am the house of solitude, the house of darkness, and the house of truth? O son of Adam, what has deceived you regarding me? You used to walk around me *fadadan*.'" I said to Ghutayf: "O Abu Asma', what is *fadadan*?" He said: "Sometimes." Then his companion, who was older than me, said to him: "And if he is a believer, it is said: 'Expand for him, and make his dwelling green,' and his soul ascends to Paradise."
