Ibn Idris narrated to us, from Husayn, from Abu Wa’il Shaqiq, from Khalid ibn Rabi’ al-‘Absi, who said: When the illness of Hudhayfah reached us, a group from Banu ‘Abs and a group from the Ansar went out to him, and Abu Mas’ud was with us. He said: We reached him during a part of the night. He said: "What time is this?" We said: "Such and such a time." He said: "I seek refuge in Allah from a morning leading to the Fire. Have you brought a shroud with you for me?" We said: "Yes." He said: "Do not be extravagant with my shroud, for if your companion has goodness with Allah, He will replace it with something better than it, and if not, it will be stripped away quickly."
