Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 33:58

Sulayman ibn Harb narrated to us, from Hammad ibn Salamah, from ‘Ata’ ibn al-Sa’ib, from ‘Ubayd ibn ‘Umayr, that Dawud (David) prostrated until what was around him grew green from his tears. Then Allah revealed to him: "O Dawud, what do you want? Do you want Me to increase you in your wealth, your children, and your lifespan?" He said: "O Lord, is this what You return to me?" So He forgave him.
