Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 33:586

Ya'la ibn 'Ubayd narrated to us, from al-A'mash, from 'Umarah ibn Hamzah, from Shahr ibn Hawshab, who said: A man came to 'Ubadah ibn al-Samit and said: "A man prays, seeking the Face of Allah, and he likes to be praised." He said: "That is nothing. Indeed, Allah says: 'I am the best of partners. Whoever has a partner with Me, then it is entirely for him; I have no need of it.'"
