Ali ibn Mushir narrated to us, from Asim, from Abu Kabsha, from Abu Musa, who said: The righteous companion is better than solitude, and solitude is better than an evil companion. Behold, the likeness of the companion of good is like the perfume; if it does not touch you, its scent will cling to you. Behold, the likeness of the companion of evil is like the bellows; if it does not burn you, its smoke will cling to you. Behold, the heart was only named (qalb) because of its constant turning (taqallub). Behold, the likeness of the heart is like a feather hanging on a tree in an open space of land, as the wind turns it back to front.
