Hadith 33:632

Waki’ narrated to us, from Sufyan, from a man, from Rabi’ ibn Khuthaym, that a mare of his worth thirty thousand was stolen from him at night while he was praying. He did not turn away [from his prayer]. When morning came, he loaded [his belongings] onto her foal. Then, when morning came [again], he said, "O Allah, he stole from me, and I was not one to steal from him." It was said that Rabi’ used to recite aloud, and if he heard footsteps, he would lower his voice.

حدثنا وكيع عن سفيان عن رجل عن ربيع بن خثيم أنه سرقت له فرس من الليل وهو يصلي قيمته ثلاثون ألفا فلم ينصرف فأصبح فحمل على مهرها ثم أصبح فقال اللهم سرقني ولم أكن أسرقه قال وكان ربيع يجهر بالقراءة فاذا سمع وقعا خافت
