Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 33:650

Abu Usama narrated to us, from al-A’mash, from Muslim, from Masruq, who said: When he arrived from al-Silsilah, the people of Kufa came to him, and some merchants came to him. They began to praise him and say, "May Allah reward you with good; how chaste you were regarding our wealth!" So he recited this verse: "Is he whom We have promised a good promise, which he will meet, like him whom We have provided with the enjoyment of the life of this world?"
