Hadith 33:678

Humaid ibn Abd al-Rahman narrated to us, from his father, from Abu Ishaq, from Amr ibn Sharhabil, who said: A man died whom they considered to be pious. He was approached in his grave and it was said to him, "We will lash you one hundred lashes from the punishment of Allah." He said, "For what will you lash me, when I used to be cautious and pious?" It was said, "Fifty." They continued to reduce it for him until it reached one lash. He was lashed, and the grave ignited with fire upon him, and the man perished. Then he was restored, and he said, "For what did you lash me?" They said, "You prayed one day while you knew you were without ablution, and a weak, poor person sought your help, and you did not help him."
