Ibn Fudayl narrated to us, from ‘Ata’, from Abu al-Bakhtari, regarding His saying: "They took their rabbis and their monks as lords besides Allah," he said: They obeyed them in what they commanded them of declaring the lawful as forbidden and the forbidden as lawful, so they worshipped them by that.
