Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 33:751

Abu Mu'awiyah narrated to us, from al-A'mash, from Ibrahim al-Taymi, from his father, who said: He went out to Basra and bought slaves for four thousand. He said: Then they built a house for him, and he sold them for a profit of four thousand. He said: So I said to him, "O my father, if you were to head to Basra and buy the likes of these, you would make a profit on them." He said: "Do not say this to me, for by Allah, I did not rejoice over it when I obtained it, nor did I suggest to myself that I should return and obtain the like of it."
