Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 33:761

'Affan ibn Muslim narrated to us, he said: Abu Sinan narrated to us, he said: 'Abdullah ibn Abi al-Hudhayl complained one day of his sins. A man said to him, "O Abu al-Mughirah, are you not pious?" He said: He said, "O Allah, this servant of Yours intended to draw near to You, and I call You to witness my hatred of him."
