Hadith 33:762
Muhammad ibn Bishr narrated to us, he said: Isma'il ibn Abi Khalid narrated to us, from 'Abd al-Malik ibn 'Umayr, from Rib'i ibn Hirash, who said: I came, and it was said to me, "Your brother has died." So I came quickly, and he had been covered with his garment. While I was at my brother's head, seeking forgiveness for him and saying "To Allah we belong and to Him we shall return," he uncovered the garment from his face and said, "Peace be upon you." We said, "And upon you be peace. Glory be to Allah!" He said, "Glory be to Allah. I have arrived before Allah after you, and I was met with mercy and fragrance, and a Lord who is not angry. He clothed me in green garments of silk and brocade, and I found the matter easier than what you think. Do not rely [on your deeds alone]. I sought permission from my Lord to inform you and give you glad tidings. Carry me to the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him), for he made a covenant with me that I should not depart until I come to him." Then he went silent in his place. He [the narrator] said: He took a pebble and threw it, and said: "I do not know if he was faster, or this [pebble]."
