Abu Mu'awiyah narrated to us, from al-A'mash, from Khaythama, who said: His people used to harm him, so he said: "Indeed, these people harm me, and by Allah, no one among them has ever asked me for a need except that I fulfilled it, nor have I ever caused harm to any of them that I responded to with the like, nor is there anyone among them I despise more than a black dog. And they do not see that [as anything other than] that, by Allah, a hypocrite never loves a believer."
