Ibn al-Mubarak narrated to us, from Jami’ ibn ‘Abd Allah al-Muqri’, that ‘Umar ibn ‘Abd al-‘Aziz forbade the courier from placing a piece of iron at the end of the whip with which he pricks the beast. He said: And he forbade heavy bridles.
