'Affan narrated to us, he said: Ja'far ibn Sulayman narrated to us, he said: Muhammad ibn Wasi' al-Azdi narrated to us, he said: I was in a circle in which were al-Hasan, Mutarrif, and so-and-so—he mentioned some people—and Sa'id ibn Abi al-Hasan spoke. He said: Then he supplicated, and he said in his supplication: "O Allah, be pleased with us," two or three times. He said: Mutarrif, who was at the side of the circle, said: "O Allah, if You are not pleased with us, then pardon us." He said: He made the people weep with this statement.
