Affan ibn Muslim narrated to us, he said: Ja'far ibn Sulayman narrated to us, he said: 'Ata' ibn al-Sa'ib narrated to us, from Wahb ibn Munabbih, who said: Allah gave Moses a light that would be a fire for others. So Moses called Aaron and said: "Indeed, Allah has gifted me a light that is a fire for others, and I gift it to you." Then Aaron called his two sons and said: "Indeed, Allah gave Moses a light that is a fire for others, and Moses gifted it to me, and I gift it to you both." He said: The two sons of Aaron used to offer the sacrifice for the Children of Israel. He said: They kept something back, so the fire descended and they were burned. He said: It was said to them—to Moses and Aaron: "This is how I deal with those who disobey Me among the people of My obedience, so how shall I deal with those who disobey Me among the people of My disobedience?"
