Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 33:972

Abu Usama narrated to us, from Abu Hilal, who said: Dawud, the companion of al-Basri, narrated to me that al-Hasan said: "And by Allah, there is no servant for whom provision is apportioned day by day, yet he does not know that it has been chosen for his own good, except that he is incapable or deficient in judgment."
