Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 38:133

Abu Usama narrated to us, from Sulayman ibn al-Mughira, from Humayd ibn Hilal, from Abdullah ibn al-Samit, from Abu Dharr, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "Indeed, after me—or there will be after me—among my nation, a people who recite the Quran; it does not pass beyond their throats. They exit from the religion just as the arrow exits from the target; they do not return to it. They are the worst of creation and the creatures." Abdullah ibn al-Samit said: So I mentioned that to Rafi ibn Amr, the brother of al-Ghifari, and he said: "And I also heard it from the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him)."
