Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 38:14

Abu Usama narrated to us, he said: Isma'il bin Abi Khalid narrated to us, he said: Qays informed us, he said: Marwan bin al-Hakam shot Talha with an arrow in his knee on the Day of the Camel. He said: The blood began to flow. He said: If they held it, it would stop, and if they let it go, it would flow. He said: So he said, "Leave it." He said: And they began, whenever they held the mouth of the wound, his knee would swell. So he said, "Leave it, for it is only an arrow that Allah sent." He said: So he died. He said: We buried him on the shore of al-Kala'. Then some of his family saw in a dream that he said, "Will you not relieve me from the water? For I have drowned three times," he said it. He said: So they exhumed him, and he was green like chard. They drained the water away from him, then they extracted him. And the part of his beard and face that was touching the ground had been eaten by the earth. So they bought for him a house from the houses of the family of Abu Bakra for ten thousand, and they buried him in it.
