Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 38:161

Yunus ibn Muhammad narrated to us, he said: Hammad ibn Salama narrated to us, from al-Azraq ibn Qays, from Sharik ibn Shihab al-Harithi, who said: I began to wish that I could meet a man from the companions of Muhammad, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, who would tell me about the Khawarij. I met Abu Barzah al-Aslami among a group of his companions on the Day of Arafah, and I said: "Tell me something you heard the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, say about the Khawarij." He said: "I will tell you what my ears heard and my eyes saw. Dinars were brought to the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and he began to distribute them. With him was a black man with cropped hair, wearing two white garments, with the mark of prostration between his eyes. He kept presenting himself to the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, but he did not give him anything. He came to him and presented himself from the front of his face, but he did not give him anything. Then he came to him from his right, but he did not give him anything. Then he came to him from his left, but he did not give him anything. Then he came to him from behind him, but he did not give him anything. He then said: 'O Muhammad, you have not been just in the distribution today.' The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, became intensely angry, then said: 'By Allah, you will not find anyone more just to you than me'—three times. Then he said: 'There will emerge against you (or against them) men from the direction of the east, whose guidance is like this—they recite the Quran, but it does not pass beyond their collarbones. They will pass through the religion just as an arrow passes through the game, then they will not return to it.' And he placed his hand upon his chest. 'Their sign is shaving (the head). They will continue to emerge until the last of them emerges with the False Messiah (al-Masih al-Dajjal). So if you see them, kill them'—three times. 'They are the worst of creation and the creatures'—he said this three times."
