Yahya ibn Adam narrated to us, he said: Yazid ibn Abd al-Aziz narrated to us, he said: Ishaq ibn Rashid narrated to us, from al-Zuhri, from Abu Salamah ibn Abd al-Rahman and al-Dahhak ibn Qays, from Abu Sa’id al-Khudri, who said: While the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) was distributing spoils on the day of Khaybar, a man from Banu Tamim called Dhu al-Khuwaysirah came to him and said: "O Messenger of Allah, be just." He said: "Woe to you! I would have failed and lost if I were not just." Umar said: "O Messenger of Allah, let me kill him." He said: "No, for this man has companions who will emerge during a time of disagreement among the people. They will recite the Quran, but it will not pass beyond their throats. They will pass through the religion just as an arrow passes through the game. You will consider your prayer insignificant compared to their prayer, and your fasting compared to their fasting. Their sign is a man among them whose hand is like a woman’s breast, or like a piece of flesh that quivers." Abu Sa’id said: My ears heard this from the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) on the day of Hunayn, and my eyes saw it with Ali when he killed them. Then he brought him out, and I looked at him.
