Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 38:47

Waki' narrated to us, from Isma'il, from Qays, who said: Marwan was with Talha on the day of the Camel. He said: When the war became entangled, Marwan said: "I will not seek my revenge after today." He said: Then he shot him with an arrow, and it struck his knee. The blood did not cease until he died. He said: And Talha said: "Leave him, for it is only an arrow that Allah sent."
