Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 18:1162

Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Marwan bin Mu'awiyah narrated to us, from al-Rabi' bin al-Nu'man, from his mother, that a woman from Banu Layth, who was called Umm Harun, while she was sitting cutting some of her sacrificial meat, a dog in the house lunged at that meat. She threw the knife at it, but she missed it, and a son of hers got in the way, so the knife fell into his stomach from her hand, and he died. So Ali paid his blood money (diyah) from the public treasury (bayt al-mal).
