Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 18:1176

Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Abd al-Wahhab al-Thaqafi narrated to us, from Ayyub, from Abu Raja’, from Abu Qilabah, who said: No man among the Muslims was killed during the time of the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace), nor during the time of Abu Bakr, nor during the time of Umar, except for one who committed adultery, or committed murder, or waged war against Allah and His Messenger.
