Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 18:1229

Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Ali ibn Mushir narrated to us, from al-Shaybani, from al-Sha’bi, who said: If a man is afflicted with a wound and he takes retribution (qisas) from the one who inflicted it upon him, the blood money (diyah) for the one from whom retribution was taken is upon the paternal relatives (aqilah) of the one who took retribution.
