Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 18:1242

Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Muhammad ibn Bakr narrated to us, from Ibn Jurayj, he said: I said to 'Ata': "A man called out to a boy, 'Move back,' so he fell and died." He said: "They narrate from 'Ali that he makes him pay the blood money (diya). They say: 'He frightened him.'" I said: "So if he called out to an adult?" He said: "I do not see it as anything but the same." I debated him on it, and he was of the opinion that he should pay the blood money.
