Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 18:1319

Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Abu al-Ahwas narrated to us, from Simak, from Qabus ibn al-Mukhariq, from his father, who said: A man came to the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and said: "O Messenger of Allah, a man comes to me wanting my wealth." He said: "Remind him of Allah." He said: "And if he does not remember?" He said: "Seek help against him from those around you from the Muslims." He said: "And if there is no one around me from the Muslims?" He said: "Seek help against him from the authority." He said: "And if the authority is far from me?" He said: "Then fight for your wealth until you protect your wealth or you are among the martyrs of the Hereafter."
