Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Muhammad ibn Bakr narrated to us, from Ibn Jurayj, he said: Uthman ibn Abi Sulayman informed me that a slave belonging to Jubayr ibn Abi Sulayman broke one of the two nasal bones of a freedman (mawla) of Ata ibn Bakht. Ibn Suraqa asked Umar ibn Abd al-Aziz about that, and he said: "We found in a book of Umar ibn al-Khattab: 'Whatever bone is broken and then heals as it was, there is in it two haqqahs (a specific amount of blood money).'" Ibn Suraqa argued back, saying: "Only one of the two bones was broken." But Umar refused except to impose the two full haqqahs for it.
