Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Abd al-Rahim ibn Sulayman narrated to us, from Abd al-Malik, from Ata, who said: If the hand or the leg is broken, there is no retaliation (*qisas*) upon the one who broke it, but upon him is the blood money (*diyah*).
