Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Muhammad ibn Bakr narrated to us, from Ibn Jurayj, from ‘Ata’, who said: "The leader (of the caravan) is held liable." I said: "And the driver?" He said: "He is held liable for the hand and the foot." I said: "They claim that he is held liable for the hand." So I debated him on it. He said: "He says: 'The road! The road!'"
