Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Ibrahim ibn Sadaqah narrated to us, from Sufyan ibn Husayn, from al-Hakam, that he used to say regarding the crime of the *umm al-walad* (a slave woman who has borne a child to her master): "It does not exceed her neck (i.e., her value)." Hammad said: "The blood money for what she committed."
