Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Abu Usama narrated to us, from Mujalid, from al-Sha'bi, from Shurayh, who said: Whoever brings something out from his house into a path, and it causes injury to something, then he is a guarantor for it, whether it is a stone or a piece of wood. And whoever digs a well in the path of the Muslims, its blood money (diyah) is taken, but he is not subjected to retaliation (qisas) for it.
