Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Waki’ narrated to us, he said: Al-Qasim ibn al-Fadl al-Harrani narrated to us, from Muhammad ibn Ziyad, who said: My grandmother was an *umm walad* (a slave woman who bore a child to her master) of Uthman ibn Maz’un. When Uthman died, his son wounded her with a wound. She mentioned that to Umar ibn al-Khattab, so he said to him: "Give her *arsh* (indemnity/compensation) for what you have done to her."
