Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Isra'il narrated to us, from Jabir, from 'Amir, who said: If a man strangles a man and does not lift [his hands] from him until he kills him, then it is *qawad* (retaliation). And if he lifts [his hands] from him and then he dies, then it is a heavy *diyah* (blood money).
