Hadith 10:1026
Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Ibn ‘Ulayyah narrated to us, from Ayyub, who said: I asked al-Zuhri about the waiting period (‘iddah) of an *umm al-walad* (a slave woman who has borne a child to her master) if her master dies leaving her behind. He said: "The Sunnah." I said: "The Sunnah?" He said: "The Sunnah. Barirah was emancipated, so she observed the waiting period of a free woman."
حدثنا أبو بكر قال نا بن علية عن أيوب قال سألت الزهري عن عدة أم الولد إذا توفي عنها سيدها فقال السنة قلت السنة قال السنة بريرة أعتقت فاعتدت عدة الحرة
